Salon.com's Gordy Slack seems to believe that Evolution proves that no God exists and that our origins were completely without design or direction in any way. Apparently Mr. Slack has missed the fact that Evolution contains enormous gaps that render the theory useless for determining the actual origin of life. Mr. Slack's article dismisses Intelligent Design as nothing more than religious emotionalism hiding in the veil of science.  In essence Slack suggests that Intelligent Design is religion and no matter how scientific it may seem don't believe it.  Instead accept that the theory of Evolution has proven that God does not exist although science has done nothing whatsoever to demonstrate this.  The article dismisses the fact that Intelligent Design is actual science with a great deal of circumstantial evidence to support it.  He also seems to ignore the fact that many accept both Evolution and Intelligent Design. All too often those opposed to Intelligent Design simply reject any notion of God no matter how unemotional and rationality based that notion is. Read the article, The evolution of creationism.

The New York Times criticized the Democratic leadership for capitulating to the President on the nomination of Mukasey to the Attorney General post.  See the editorial, Abdicate and Capitulate.  The New York Times builds it case against Mukasey on his refusal to label waterboarding torture.  The New York Times writes, "The real reason the White House would not permit Mr. Mukasey to answer was the risk to federal officials who carried out Mr. Bush’s orders to abuse and torture prisoners after the 9/11 attacks: the right answer could have exposed them to criminal sanctions."  Perhaps they would like nothing better. Senators Schumer and Feinstein are not political virgins, but getting Mukasey through the Judiciary Committee was the right thing to do for the country.

This United States Congress image is in the public domain. Barack Obama does not get it.  He has committed an unforgivable penalty  by admiatting that he wants to raise taxes.  If he is able to to win Iowa and take advantage of doubts surrouinding Hillary that come from that, he will have to face the tax raiser charge. This was an act of self-destruction.

John Edwards implied that Hillary Clinton is deceitful by seeming to attack Bush when in fact slamming Clinton.  According to an AP article, Edwards says his message is clear, Edwards said, "What George Bush does is plant questions and exclude people from events and I don't think that's what Democrats want to see."  He also said that people "expect you to stand in front of them and answer their hard questions, and they expect it to be an honest process."

Politico.com, a website run by a collection of former memebers of the establishment liberal media, continues to demonstrate uncharacteristic fairness in its political analysis.  In a recent article the Politico points out that "easy Southern stereotypes mask a more complicated present."  The typical liberal media boilerplate includes an assumption that the south is racist and backward. The Politico has shown some signs of abandoning the old assumptions.  It's progress, but we'll see how far it goes.
