PERSONAL FOUL - MEDIA MATTERS STRIKES AGAIN: Media Matters, like so many reactionary left wing organizations, assumes that any meteorologist that questions global warming can never be considered a good meteorologist.  Read More

OFFISIDES: Senator Larry Craig continues to annoy the general public and outrage his own party by his unwillingness to resign his seat. The Senator so longs for the trappings of power that come with being a US Senator that he is willing to live in the haze of constant shame from the general public, his own colleagues and his own party. Few scandals demonstrate how intoxicating the power that those in Washington possess can be. He continues to offend and is therefore offsides. A poll of Iowans shows that they want him to retire.  Greg Smith and Associates, HALF OF IDAHOANS SAY: LARRY, DON'T STAY IN THE SENATE!

Fred Thompson, former U.S. Senator, actor, and candidate for President. Author: US Senate. This United States Congress image is in the public domain. This may be because it is an official Congressional portrait, because it was taken by an official employee of the Congress, or because it has been released into the public domain and posted on the official websites of a member of Congress. As a work of the U.S. federal government, the image is in the public domain.                                     Fred Thompson Launches at "Liberal" Republicans                                                                                                              According to an AP article by Marcus Franklin,  Thompson said, "Some think the way to beat the Democrats in November is to be more like them. I could not disagree more."  The article continues, "I believe that conservatives beat liberals only when we challenge their outdated positions, not embrace them. This is not a time for philosophical flexibility, it is a time to stand up for what we believe in."  Perhaps Thompson has calculated, and understandably so, that the best way to win the Republican nomination is to highlight the liberal positions of his opponents.  Giuliani's pro-choice positions put him on the fringe of the Republican party socially.  Romney has also taken liberal social positions in the past.  For the complete rundown, see below.
