Obama vs. Generic Democrat
Ref's Analysis: Obama has trailed the generic Democrat throughout the last two months, although that gap has closed recently. One can look at this in two ways. Either Obama has room to grow or Obama is a weak candidate because he cannot get the support of those inclined to vote Democratic. Regardless of which way one looks at it, Obama's showing compared to the generic Democrat indicates current weakness because he has failed to gain the support of those inclined to vote Democratic. Whether he can remedy this problem or it gets worse remains to be seen.
