Dittos Ann, not Rush

Dittos Ann, not Rush

Hard to see how conservative leaders in America, and I mean most of them, are not embarassed by their contradictions on Romney.  One can forgive Santorum for endorsing Romney and then opposing him, but only because he is currently in the race.

What's Rush's excuse?  He pushed Romney so hard in 2008 that he effectively endorsed him.  Are we to assume that he just did not do his research, or his employees anyway?  He says there are more conservative choices now, but I am not seeing them.  I guess it's another Operation Chaos, only this time in reverse. Apparently Rush believes his Operation Chaos in 2008 was so ineffective at harming Obama, that we ought to employ the tactic on our own guys..  Thus, the 2012 version of Operation Chaos. Now that the crybaby wing of the conservative movement has had it's massive hissy fit, can we please fall behind the one guy who can beat Obama and end all this bitter infighting already?  Or perhaps we will go forward with the single biggest hissy fit of all and nominate someone who really has no chance of winning.  That would severely harm the conservative media in this country. Their listeners would be demoralized and feel dooped.  I would blame Rush, Palin, Hannity, Levin and Kristol, among others.  Their egos are out of control.

Kill MSM Debates

National Review says no more MSM Debates

I agree with the National Review guys who call for the Republicans to abandon any debates with "mainstream media" like ABC, NBC, CNN, et al, next time around.  They argue that this does nothing but subject them to unnecessary questioning by Democratic advocates.

The silliness of accepting such debates was clearly seen with Stephy, to the right, tried to sandbag Romney on an issue that his real bosses, the White House, had not gotten around to yet.  Apparently the MSM doesn't care if everyone knows they are biased, so why should the GOP pretend they are objective enough to moderate a debate.  There are plenty of organizations who would do a great job moderating and the MSM will cover them anyway.  Duh, no more ABCCBSMSNBCCNN debates for GOP primaries.  How hard can this be?

Unemployment Picture Unclear

Last week's numbers confirmed the trend of stronger hiring, but did not yet show that the improvments had solidified.  The weekly claims for jobless benefits need to average 350,000 to signal sustained labor market strength.  351,000 filed claims last week, the same number as the week before.  We are seemingly headed for a four-week average very close to the 350,000 average that economists say will signal sustained job growth.  The Gallup poll, however, is showing that unemployment spiked back up to 9% this month.  Gallup's numbers always show up earlier than those of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  In summary, the picture is hard to pin down right now.

Date Actual Initial Report
2/23   351k
2/16 351k 348k
2/9 361k 358k
2/2 373k
